Visit ReadyVirginia.gov for detailed information on the three steps to preparedness.
Gather emergency supplies now — the best way to survive a hurricane is to prepare well before a storm shows up on your local weather report. From May 25-31, certain emergency supplies are exempt from state sales tax during a new tax holiday during Hurricane and Flooding Preparedness Week.
Your local emergency manager can help you create a disaster plan for your family and answer questions about disaster preparedness in your area.
