Richmond - The U.S. Small Business Administration is reminding Private Non-Profit organizations that do not provide critical services of a governmental nature that the filing deadline for SBA low interest rate disaster loans is November 21. SBA also announces that the counties of Greensville, King and Queen and Lunenburg in the Commonwealth of Virginia have been added to the declaration. These loans are available as a result of President Bush’s Disaster Declaration for Public Assistance resulting from damages caused by the severe storms and flooding associated with Tropical Depression Ernesto that occurred on August 29 through September 7, 2006.
PNPs located in the counties of Accomack, Caroline, Charles City, Dinwiddie, Essex, Gloucester, Greensville, Isle of Wight, James City, King William, King and Queen, Lancaster, Lunenburg, Mathews, Middlesex, Northampton, Northumberland, Richmond, Surry, Sussex, Westmoreland and York and the cities of Poquoson and Richmond in the Commonwealth of Virginia are eligible to apply to SBA. Examples of eligible non critical PNP organizations include, but are not limited to, food kitchens, homeless shelters, museums, libraries, community centers, colleges.
Eligible private non-profit organizations may qualify for loans up to $1.5 million. These loans are available at a 4 percent interest rate with loan terms up to 30 years. These loans are for permanent repair and /or replacement work. SBA determines eligibility for the program based on the size, type of services and its financial resources. Loan amounts and terms are set by SBA and are based upon each applicant’s financial condition.
The deadline to apply for these loans is November 21, 2006.
