SBA Urges Disaster Victims to Visit the Centers Before They Close

Richmond - The U.S. Small Business Administration announces today that its Disaster Loan Outreach Centers in Virginia serving victims of Tropical Depression Ernesto will be closed Saturday, November 4. The Centers will resume normal operations on Monday, November 6, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will remain open until Thursday, November 9, at which time the Centers will cease operation at the close of business. Centers serving victims of the October flooding will remain open.

SBA is urging disaster victims to visit the Centers, before they close Thursday, November 9, to obtain one-on-one assistance and information about our disaster assistance programs. SBA is also encouraging those victims receiving an application to return the completed application as quickly as possible.

Anyone unable to visit the Centers may obtain an application by calling the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 1-800-659-2955 (1-800-877-8339 for the hearing-impaired), Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. until 12 a.m. (Midnight) and Sunday from 12 p.m. (noon) until 12 a. m. (midnight) EST. Business loan applications can also be downloaded from the SBA Web site at www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance. Completed applications should be returned to the Centers or mailed to: U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX. 76155.

The filing deadline to return applications for property damage is December 15, 2006. The deadline to return economic injury applications is July 16, 2007.
